Justice,
Please help me define it
I'm helplessly begging on my knees
Thinking Am I next.
As we match through stained streets
Our footsteps imprinted with blood
For what will happen to creation if the woman's crown is bleeding?
Tell me, are you listening?
For our pleads and cries have reached all nations
But you still turns your backs, not willing to listening
Yet have the audacity to ask me if the length of my skirt wasn't the reason.
What is it about your desirability politics
That you accuse me for being your trigger,
You fail to take accountability for your lack of self control
Telling me the reason you violated me was because you're bored.
How more patriarchal could you get?
Acting as if sex is a thing done onto a women and not with a women
Worst of all, against her will.
That's called rape.
You take away a piece of her that she'll forever be searching for.
Why is it that my curves, thighs and breast are now formed as a weapon against me?
My willingness to love and appreciate my body will be seen as me trying to oversexualise myself, Sarah Baartman's story now becomes mine for my self worth is demoralized.
I'll be cat called in street corners, devoured by those who view themselves as holier than thou and made to feel like nothing less than contaminated stale.
Tell me, can you hear me now?
I didn't think so
Just like you claim to say you didn't hear me said no,
Talking as if body language isn't enough of a sign that I did not give you consent.
Justice
Please help me define
I'm helplessly begging on my knees
Thinking who is next?
